Alfonso G. Alvino

March 28, 1942 — July 9, 2023

Alfonso Alvino, of Wakefield, formerly of Hyde Park and Italy, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2023. Born in Avellino, Italy to the late Carmine and Grazia (DaMayo) Alvino. Alfonso immigrated to the US in 1967. He worked extremely hard his whole life, often working 2-3 jobs at a time to provide for his family. Alfonso enjoyed gardening, watching soccer, and spending time with family and friends.

He was the beloved husband of 52 years to Maria (Caradonna). Devoted father of Loredana Centrella and her husband Jason of Melrose, Sabrina Schmidt and her husband James of FL and the late Carmine Alvino. Cherished Nonno of Sofia, Adriana, Reagan, and Grant. Dear brother of Vincenzo Alvino, Carmelina LePore, Antonio Alvino all of Italy, Ciro Alvino of Marlborough, Rose Gaita of Norwood, and Maria Tropeanno of Easton.

Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, July 12th from 5 – 8 PM. A Funeral will be held from the Paul Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 128 Revere Street, Revere Thursday, July 13th at 9:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St Anthony's Church, 250 Revere Street, at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alfonso's memory to the Autism Research Institute by visiting www.autism.org.
