Alton James Gorden

Gorden, Alton James (Jim) of Medford passed away peacefully on November 8, 2023 at the age of 82. Born in Lumberton, NC on July 22, 1941.

Son of the late Franklin and Louise Gorden (Russell). Beloved husband of Kathleen Tringale.  Devoted father of Vincent Gorden of GA, Lisa Kalloch (Gorden) and her husband Gary of Revere, Christina Gorden of NH, and the late Maureen Baker (Gorden) of SC.

Stepfather to Stephanie Madarese and her husband Anthony, and their children Anthony, Alessandra, and Stella, and Lisa Tringale all of Medford.

Cherished grandfather of Kevin Kalloch and his wife Jessica, Dylan Kalloch and his fiancé Jenna, Gino and Nicholas Mele, Gina Merola and her fiancé Kelvin, and Elaina Marcucella. Adored great-grandfather to Rocco, Dominick, and Roman Kalloch.

Dear brother of Joseph Gorden and his wife Esther of PA. Adored uncle of Elizabeth Krzanowsky ( Gorden) and her husband Steve of PA.

Jim spent his younger years growing up in PA, until he joined the United States Army and proudly served his country.  Jim flew a helicopter and completed three combat tours of duty during the Vietnam War receiving many medals for his efforts. He retired from the Army after 20 years of service. Jim then went on to work for the United States Postal Service for 20 years before retiring. Most of all, Jim was an avid fisherman and Hunter, which he enjoyed from the time he was a young boy. His love for the outdoors was proudly passed down through his children and grandchildren. He would always say "They can't help it, it's in their blood” He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
