Carmela M. (Merola) Swafford, formerly of Revere and the North End, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at the age of 96 in Peabody. Born to the late of Rosina and Angelo Merola. Cherished mother of Rosanne Gelaides and her husband Peter, the late Joseph Swafford and is wife Judy and the late John Swafford. Adored grandmother of Mark Gelaides, Jennifer Swafford, Michelle and her husband Anthony Paone and Alex Gelaides and his wife Julie. Great-grandmother of Nathan, Hayden, Owen, Jaxon and Sophia. Dear sister of Pat Merola and his late wife Dolores and the late Alex “Sonny” Merola and his late wife Dottie. Also lovingly survived by her cousin Anna McGowan and her husband Don as well as many nieces and nephews. As were Carmela’s wishes, all services were privately held.
