Florence M. Penachio

A life time resident of Revere died peacefully on July 28, 2015 at the age of 93. Married for 54 years, she was the beloved wife of the late Joseph F. Penachio, who predeceased her in 1997. Mother of Arthur J. Penachio and his wife Dee of Ipswich and Joseph R. Penachio and his wife Cheryl of Peabody. She was also the former mother-in-law of Caryl Penachio of Beverly. Devoted Grandmother of Joseph D. Penachio of Brooklyn, N.Y., Kim M. Stam of Ipswich, MA, Taryn Sifakis of Alexandria, VA, and Joseph E. Penachio of Peabody, MA She will be missed by her Great-grandchildren: Jake, Max, Brooklyn, Holland, Liberty, Alexa, George, Eva, Joseph, and Joyia. Dear sister of Theresa Petrilli of Winthop,, Louise Milano and sister-in-law, Ruth Malio of Revere and the late Joseph Malio, William Malio, Gerard Malio, Joseph Festa, Anthony Festa, Mary Melchiano, and Helen Toto. She is also survived by many devoted nieces and nephews who, like all her extended family members, have fond memories of the wonderful Holiday dinners, she hosted year after year. She was happiest when her house was overflowing with family and friends and her table was full with her wonderful cooking. She was an expert at crocheting afghans as well as the art of Japanese embroidery. Florence was particularly proud of her time as a crane operator as part of the WWII effort in a munitions factory in the Boston area. She was also a profound lover of dogs and many who knew her felt they wouldn’t mind coming back as Major, Max, or her beloved Mickey. Funeral from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home 128 Revere St Revere on Friday July 31st at 9:00 am. Funeral Mass in St Anthony’s Church at 10:00 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be Thursday 4 – 7 pm. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.
