Francine F. Gallant

Our loving mother, Francine (Santarpio) Gallant, passed peacefully at home on March 19th. Known for her sweet nature, generosity, and Italian cooking, she is preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Marion (DiSessa) Santarpio, her older sister, Janice Zarba, her twin brother Frederick Santarpio, her younger brother, George Santarpio. Francine leaves behind her son Cory Gallant and his finance, Meredith Littrell, her daughter Renee (Gallant) Griffin, her son-in-law Kenneth Griffin, her granddaughters Evelyn Griffin and Victoria Elhilow and husband John, and great-grandchildren Vanna and Jonah Elhilow. Our mom was loved by many more friends, cousins, sisters and brother-in-laws, nieces, and nephews across the Santarpio, DiSessa, Previte, Gallant, Mackey, and Hanlon families.

Francine was the neighborhood “mom” to her children’s friends growing up on Bayswater Street in East Boston where Lipton Iced tea, chocolate-chip cookies, and Carnation Instant Breakfast Bars were always stocked. Francine was also known for her love of seafood, her fried eggplant “so thin you could read a newspaper through it,” and was a master at homemade pizzelles which she lovingly prepared every holiday. Our home was welcoming and generous to all because of her. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Join us in celebrating her life at Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 128 Revere St., Revere, on Monday, March 24th, 4 – 8 pm. Francine will be interned at Holy Cross Mausoleum in Malden on Tuesday, March 25th at 11:30 am, following a brief service from 10 – 11 am at the Funeral home.
