SIMONE ~ Frank R. of Peabody on July 12, 2012. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy C. (Natola) Simone. Loving father of Karen January and her companion Jim McLaughlin of N. Andover and Janet Leonard of NH. Dear brother of Joseph C. Simone of San Diego and the late Patrick E. Simone. Cherished grandfather of Steven Leonard, Christin Leonard and Michelle Lefever and husband Jason. Great-grandfather of David, Josiah and Lorelei Lefever and Ainsley Rennick. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held in the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons~Bruno Funeral Home 128 Revere St., REVERE on Monday, July 23rd, 2012 at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visitation will be held Monday from 11-11:30am. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery. Late US Marine Corps WWII Veteran and the recipient of the Purple Heart. Frank was born July 23, 1924 in Revere, the son of the late Rose and Santo Simone. He graduated from Revere High School in 1942. He served in the Marines from 1943 to 1945, when he was honorably discharged with a disabling injury. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart. In 1949 he married Dorothy Natola, with whom he shared almost 62 years of marriage. They moved to Peabody in 1962 and raised two daughters. Frank worked for the Social Security Administration for many years until his retirement. When his wife Dorothy became ill with Parkinson’s Disease, he devoted his life to caring for her. In her final years at a nursing home, he spent every day at her side until her very last day. Frank was the most loving, giving person that you could ever meet. His family was everything to him and he gave his all to them. He enjoyed watching the Red Sox and Patriots on TV, and he also liked watching the “judge shows” with the court cases. He loved yard sales and went to them every Saturday morning for years. He was extremely personable and could strike up a conversation with anyone he met. He also had quite a sense of humor. Anyone who encountered him was usually smiling within a minute or two. In his final weeks at hospitals and rehabs, all the nurses loved him and said he kept them laughing. His positive attitude and love for life touched everyone he met. Frank will be greatly missed and deeply loved always. We know that he is happy now with his bride in heaven, and we look forward to being together with him again there.
