Colella George V. "Former Mayor " Of Revere on Nov 7th. Beloved husband of June (Murphy). Devoted father of Joan Bullock and her husband Michael, Jennifer Martelli and her husband Vincent all of Marblehead and Liz Kirk and her husband John of San Antonio TX. Loving grandfather of Matthew Bullock, Mia Martelli, Michael Martelli, John Kirk Jr and Jenna Kirk. Dear brother of William Colella and his wife Gail of Danvers. Also survived by many loving Aunts and cousins. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday Nov 12th in St Anthony's Church 250 Revere St Revere at 10:00 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours in the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home 128 Revere St Revere Thursday 2 - 8 pm. George was first elected to office in 1953, he served Twenty years as Mayor, Twenty- five years as City Councillor and four years as a member Revere School Committee. At the time of his death he was serving his thirteenth two year term as a member of the Revere City Council. George was the longest serving elected official in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Late WWII Navy Veteran. Late class President RHS 1945,Late member class 1952 Boston University, Late member St Anthony's Holy Name Society, Soccorso Club, Elks, Loyal Order of Moose, Patriot Civic Club, VFW, Revere League For Special Needs, 4th Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus and many more Revere organizations from sports to Senior citizens clubs. In lieu of Flowers donations may be made in George’s name to the Jimmy Fund 10 Brookline Place West 6th Floor Brookline MA 02445. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
