James M. Shea

January 9, 1935 — February 15, 2017

Shea, James M. of Nahant formerly of Jamaica Plain on February 15, 2017. Beloved father of Jill Shea and husband Jeremy Gonsalves of Dover. Dear brother of Geraldine McVay of Falmouth. Cherished grandfather of Jake and Emma. Loving Uncle of Ann McVay and Janet Pratt. James graduated from Boston College High School and earned his degree at UMass Amherst. James served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and received the Good Conduct Medal. James worked in Corporate Security for the Polaroid Company. He was a member of the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police and the Drug Enforcement unit. James enjoyed watching the Red Sox and the Patriots but his true passion was race horses, and over the years owned over 20. Funeral Arrangements under the direction of the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home 128 Revere St, Revere. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Disabled America Veterans, State House, Room 546, Boston, MA 02133.
