DeLena, Jerry of Revere on February 16, 2017. Beloved husband of 63 years to the late Marcella (Shealey). Devoted father of Christopher and his late wife Judith Anne of Braintree, Retired Deputy Chief RFD Stephen of Revere, James and his wife Talmira of Glen NH, and Thomas and his wife Wendy of North Reading. Dear brother of Joe DeLena of FL, Richard DeLena and wife Marilyn of FL, Bobby DeLena and wife Joan of Melrose, and the late Kay Penza, Frank DiLena, Rose Marrota, Gloria McDonald, Ronald, and Louis. Also survived by 4 loving grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Jerry served in the United States Army during WWII and was a recipient of the Purple Heart GO 108 Hq 45th GH with Oak Leaf Cluster GO 110 Hq 45th GH, Good Conduct Medal GO 13 HQ 350th INF, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, and the Bronze Star. Jerry was the Commissioner of the Veterans Affairs in Revere for 32 years. He had a great sense of humor and was known as the king of the one liner. Jerry enjoyed watching all of the Boston sports teams. Funeral from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home 128 Revere St, Revere, on Wednesday February 22, 2017 at 9:00am. Funeral Mass in St Anthony’s Church at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.
