Mauro, Joan (Krovitz) born in Winthrop and lifelong resident of Revere passed on April 23, 2017. Devoted daughter of the late Edward Krovitz Sr and Bertha (Morgan). Beloved mother of Deborah Touhey and her husband Brian of Milford, Stephen R. Mauro and his wife Rita of Saugus, Richard E. Mauro and his wife Lynne of Saugus, and Robert A. Mauro and Gina Tiro of Peabody. Cherished nana of Richard Jr, Dante, Ava, and Sophia. Adoring sister of Judy Doherty and husband Arthur of NH, sister in law to Josephine Krovitz and the late Edward Krovitz Jr. Former wife of the late Richard A. Mauro. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends. Joan was a dedicated mother and grandmother and will be sorely missed by all who knew her. The family wishes to convey their deep gratitude to the caregivers who provided thoughtful and loving care over the past few years. Funeral from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home 128 Revere St, Revere on Friday April 28, 2017 at 9:00am. Funeral Mass at St Mary of the Assumption Parish at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
