Kathleen Lucille Dow

July 28, 1951 — February 17, 2025

Haverill

In loving memory and sadness, Kathleen “Kitty” L. (Kelly) Dow of Haverhill passed away suddenly on February 17, 2025, at the age of 73. Beloved wife of the late Francis Charles Dow II. Devoted mother of the late Francis Charles Dow III and survived by Jennifer M. Dow.

Cherished grandmother of Francis Charles Dow IV and Richard Joseph Dow. The loving sister of Betty (Kelly) Dudzic and late husband Frank Dudzic, Patricia (Kelly) Palmer and late husband Anthony Palmer, Jack Kelly and fiancée Leona Bechtold, Mickey (Kelly) Denault and husband Kenneth Denault and Arlene (Kelly) Festa and husband Paul Festa. Loving Aunt to many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews and cousins. Loving Mother-in-Law to John McCusker and Donna Dow. Dear daughter of the late John and Madelon Kelly.

Kitty was born in Boston Ma and grew up in Roxbury/Dorchester, graduated from South Boston High School and raised her family in Revere Ma. She completed a banking career at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.

Kitty lived a life full of love. Everyone she knew loved her. She had many friends from young to old and was always making new friends everywhere she went. She would do anything for anyone just to help make things easier for them. Yetta (known to her grandchildren) loved children and cherished her grandsons, Frankie and Richie, to the moon and back with her whole heart. They were the center of her world. Kitty loved her fur babies (pets) as much as she loved her children. She put everyone’s needs ahead of her own. She was a very special person, the kind you don’t come by very often.

Kitty loved to dance and watch English programs. She loved to read, take pottery classes and was extremely creative with crafts as well. She loved to go to craft fairs and any apple festival. She was an avid seamstress. She loved to sew, watch seamstress shows and competitions and do embroidery. She was constantly sewing/embroidering clothing and items for gifts just to make people smile.

She enjoyed watching for shooting stars. She also enjoyed bird watching and adored Cardinals. She enjoyed going to Las Vegas and visiting local casinos. She loved and was so proud of her hometown of Boston, the Red Sox and New England Patriots and had a special place in her heart for Castle Island in South Boston and Winnikenni Castle in Haverhill.

Kitty was always gentle, caring and willing to help. She always made time for anyone who needed help and was always there. She was always there for her grandchildren and family. She cherished her time spent with her family most of all.

Kitty will, with unbelievable love and sadness, be greatly missed. A Celebration on Life will be held at Buonfiglio Funeral Home at a later date.
