With heartfelt reverence, we honor and celebrate the life of Kody Daniel Schrank, born on August 4, 1994, in Boston, MA. Kody, an adventurous and loving soul, made his mark wherever he went, leaving indelible impressions of his warm and thoughtful spirit that will be cherished forever.
Kody valued loyalty and his family above all. His proudest achievements were being a father and a big brother. As a young boy especially, his joy and laughter were infectious. His kindness extended to all living beings especially animals. His love for his dog, Deebo, was unparalleled and his affection for every dog he met was testament to his loving nature. His hobbies spanned across a multitude of interests, from skateboarding and hockey to soapbox racing and fishing. His Papa took him to see Tony Hawk, which left a lasting impression, and his Mimi later took him to Alaska where he skateboarded at Icy straits. Kody's impressive achievements in the Gloucester Fish Box Derby Tournament were not just personal victories, but cherished traditions that he lovingly passed on to his younger sister and cousins.
His life in Peabody, Massachusetts, and his times in Revere, MA and Rockford, IL and Florida were filled with many escapades and memorable experiences. Kody enjoyed family Lego nights, building things with his beloved Papa, and spending sun-kissed beach days with his Mimi. Teaching his sister, Devlyn, various skills like skateboarding and cooking brought him immense joy. Kody's life was a beautiful tapestry of love, dedication, and the ceaseless pursuit of happiness, painted with his unique colors of compassion and love. That pursuit was a true struggle for Kody and when he recognized that same struggle in others, his instinct was to help - no matter his own circumstances. Sadly, Kody could no longer toil through those struggles and while those he left behind are heartbroken, our hope is that he has finally found peace with the many loved ones who have passed before him welcoming him with comfort and love.
Kody is survived by his mother, Danielle Skilling (Schrank), his daughter, Isabella and his little sister Devlyn Skilling. He is also survived by his Mimi, Carol Mannone and his Papa, Ron Schrank. Kody is also survived by his Godparents Auntie Keri Wiswall and “Uncle” Louis Caputo and his Great-Aunt Merrilee Sasso. He was also survived by several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends who he held as family. Kody was predeceased by his lifetime buddy, Uncle Eddie and his fur baby, Deebo. Kody is also survived by 3 siblings, Amanda, McKenzie and Cole Hanssen.
