Leila Louise Siebert-McCormick (December 6, 1939- March 21, 2022) Leila Louise McCormick passed unexpectedly at the age of 82 on March 21, 2022. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving and devoted wife, an inspirational and supportive mother, and an adoring grandmother and great-grandmother to her ever-expanding family. Leila was born and raised in Raleigh, NC, as one of three children to Jean Self. As a young woman, Leila wed Lawrence Siebert. They moved to the Greater Boston area, where they had five beautiful daughters. Widowed at the age of 22, Leila grounded her roots in East Boston where she lovingly raised her family as a single mother. She later married John McCormick, her husband of 33 years. They shared some of their fondest memories spending summers together at their cottage on Rock Haven Lake in Maine. She enjoyed nothing more than surrounding herself with the love of her family, in her backyard, reading late into the night, working on her latest puzzle, and playing countless games of Cribbage. Leila's legacy encompasses the importance of family, the spirit of faith, the quality of independence, and the drive to persevere through adversity. Her daughters would often hear her say, "You girls are God's children and your father is the Father in heaven." Leila is predeceased by her mother, Jean Self; her siblings, Woodrow and Robert Self; her first husband, Lawrence Siebert; and her second husband, John McCormick. She is survived by her children: Linda & Jerry LaCasse of Somers, CT; Laura & Robert Porzio of Wilmington, NC; Lana & Paul Calvi of Hingham, MA; Louise & Donald Gabor of Pawtucket, RI; and Lorraine & Robert Bucchino of Revere, MA. She is also survived by her step-children: Carol Harper of Everett, MA; Jackie Mattucchio of North Andover, MA; John &Bodia McCormick of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Jimmy McCormick of North Andover, MA; and the late Elizabeth & her surviving husband Steve Lind of Everett, MA. She will also live in the memories of her 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend the visiting hours at the Paul Buonfiglio Funeral Home located at 128 Revere Street, Revere, MA on Friday, March 25th from 3:00-7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at Saint Anthony of Padua Parish in Revere, MA on March 26th at 12:00 noon entombment to follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden, MA.
