Leyla Buruca

Leyla Elizabeth (Mendoza) Buruca, of Medford, originally from Yucuaiquín, El Salvador, passed away on September 15, 2024. She was the beloved wife of Reynaldo Buruca and the devoted mother of Elizabeth Sofia Buruca, both of Medford, MA. Leyla was the cherished daughter of Jose Antonio Mendoza and Maria Francisca Flores of Somerville, MA, and a loving sister to Walter Mendoza and Maria Aracelis Perez, also of Somerville.

Leyla's passions were many—she found joy in dancing, loved music, and was an avid softball player. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Friday, September 20, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Church, 12 Properzi Way, Somerville, MA. A Mass will follow at 7:00 p.m.

Interment will take place in Leyla's hometown of Yucuaiquín, El Salvador.

Era la amada esposa de Reynaldo Buruca y la dedicada madre de Elizabeth Sofia Buruca, ambas de Medford, MA. Leyla era la querida hija de José Antonio Mendoza y María Francisca Flores de Somerville, MA, y una cariñosa hermana de Walter Mendoza y María Aracelis Pérez, también de Somerville.

Leyla tenía muchas pasiones: disfrutaba del baile, amaba la música y era una ávida jugadora de sóftbol. Será profundamente extrañada por todos los que la conocieron.

Familiares y amigos están invitados a las horas de visita el viernes 20 de septiembre de 2024, de 5:00 p.m. a 7:00 p.m. en la Iglesia de San Antonio, 12 Properzi Way, Somerville, MA. A continuación, se celebrará una misa a las 7:00 p.m.

El entierro tendrá lugar en la ciudad natal de Leyla, Yucuaiquín, El Salvador.
