Lillian (Eveleth) Carifio

Carifio, Lillian (Eveleth) of Revere passed away on October 23, 2020 at the age of 97. Born in Worcester on March 9, 1923 to the late Francis and Marie (Rushford). Beloved wife of the late Edward Carifio. Devoted mother of Edward Carifio and his wife Lillian of Coconut Creek FL, Elaine Jean and her husband Paul of Potomac Falls, VA, and George Carifio of Revere. Cherished grandmother of Edward, Michelle, Nicole, Robyn.and David. Adored great grandmother of Ciara, Lincoln, Charlie, and Angelo. Dear sister of Ruth Ford of NH, and the late Frank and his surviving wife Eleanor, Robert, Richard, Helen, and Elizabeth. Caring sister in law to Phyllis Carifio. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Lillian was raised in Maine and moved to Revere in the 1940’s. She was an active participant in community projects, particularly those involving the environment. Longtime member of the league of women voters ,Lillian was instrumental in creating the city’s tree planting program in the 70’s. In her spare time she loved tending to her garden, knitting, Solving Crosswords, avid bowler, and was a member of the historical society. All services will be privately held for the immediate family. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.
