Luigi DeSimone, of Chelsea, passed away November 18, 2021 at the age of 85. Luigi arrived in New York on the ship, Omaricci, from Italy at the age of 20. He came to Massachusetts and worked as a light engineer and designer at Lightolear, where he worked for 44 years. He was an inventor and acquired a patent for his employer where he was cherished by all. Luigi DeSimone is survived by his sister, Connie (DeSimone) Genzale and her husband, John; his niece Jennifer Genzale; his nephew, Michael DeSimone and his wife Jennifer Alston, and his great-nephew and niece, Alston and Claire. He is also survived by his niece Pia(Cerullo) Colarusso; his nephew Carmine Cerullo and his wife; his nephew Bruno Cerullo and his wife, Antonietta; his nephew Vincenzo Cerullo and his wife, Dora and many great-nephews and nieces whom he cherished. Luigi was the son of Carmine and Pia DeSimone and brother to the late Antonio DeSimone, Philip DeSimone and Maria (DeSimone) Cerullo. Luigi was predeceased by his loving partner of over 25 years, Nancy Nicholson. Luigi adored listening to Nancy play the accordion. Friends and family will honor Luigi by gathering on Saturday, November 27 at St. Anthony’s Church, 250 Revere Street, Revere for a Funeral Mass at 11 AM.
