Martin Compiano

January 31, 1951 — February 13, 2025

Salem

Martin Compiano, affectionately known as Marty to his friends, co-workers and family, was born on January 31, 1951, in Salem, Massachusetts. He spent his entire life in Salem, at 99 Proctor St, then eventually moving next door. Marty, a loyal member of his community, left us on February 13th 2025, leaving behind a legacy of generosity, spirited camaraderie, and dedicated service.

Marty was a proud son of Salem. Never married, he devoted his life to his work, his friends, and the community he loved so dearly. He spent his professional life working as a Production Clerk with General Electric, where his dedication and commitment to his role earned him multiple recognition awards as well as professional respect. His dedication extended beyond the professional setting. He was a loyal and dedicated friend, ALWAYS there for those who needed him with his spicy, but generous spirit. In his own unique way he was very supportive to all of his friends in their times of crisis. That compassion was felt by those that Marty met in his service to the Rectory at St. Anthony’s Church in Revere, as well as to all of his coworkers at GE.

Life wasn't all work for Marty however. He had a spirited love for the New England Patriots, and he enjoyed the thrill of a gambling in Vegas, Encore, and especially at the Foxwoods casino. Those who knew him at “GE” will also remember his unwavering support and advocacy for Local 201. Marty lived a life full of dedication, enjoyment, and a very generous spirit that touched all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Mary Compiano.

To commemorate Marty's life, we encourage you to share your memories and upload photos of him to the memorial page. As Marty has been known to say on occasion: “Those are my Marching Orders ”. So let us all remember and celebrate Marty’s legacy. A man who embodied the spirit of dedication, generosity, and loyalty. That legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched and the community he loved.
