Di Mauro, Nicholas J. 79 of Revere, died on April 25, 2011 in the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. He was born on August 10, 1931 in East Boston and remained a resident of Revere until the time of his death. He was the son of John and Grace Di Mauro. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and fought with honor and distinction in the Heart Break Ridge area held by 2nd Battalion, 160th infantry Regiment (40th Infantry Division). He was employed by the Record American and Boston Herald for 52 years as a compositor. He was well known in Boston as a champion singles and doubles handball player. He was also a long time member of the East Boston Yacht Club and Men's Union in Boston. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marie E. (Fucci) Di Mauro of Revere, and two children, Nicholas J. Di Mauro & his wife Antonina of North Reading, Michael Di Mauro and his wife Maria of Stoneham and three grandchildren, Michael, Stephen and Bianca and several nieces and nephews. Also survived by his brother, Fr. John Di Mauro and his sister Camille Kardoose. Visiting hours are Thursday 4-8-pm. Funeral from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home 128 Revere St. REVERE on Friday at 9:30 am. Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church at 10:30 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Entombment Holy Cross Mausoluem. In lieu of flowers donation can be made to Bianca's Dream Catcher Bracelets (Children's Hospital Orthopedics) 9 Grandview Rd. North Reading, MA 01864 make checks payable to Children's Hospital.
