Oscar Mauricio Arango Velez passed away on May 7, 2024. Born in the vibrant city of Envigado, Antioquia, Colombia, on August 15, 1969, Mauricio led a life filled with laughter, adventure, and the joy of simple pleasures.
Mauricio was a funny and adventurous soul who never missed an opportunity to bring a smile to those around him. His infectious laugh was a beacon of joy in the lives of many. He was humble, never boasting about his accomplishments, but instead, letting his actions speak for themselves. Mauricio was a dedicated worker, spending 15 years in construction, where his love for hands-on work and his skill in construction shone brightly. His humble upbringing shaped him into the hardworking, dedicated individual he was.
In his leisure time, Mauricio was a lover of the beach, old music, and the simple joy of a Heineken paired with a smoke. He had a passion for crafting things with his own hands, a testament to his dedication and creativity. His love for adventure was evident in his enjoyment of traveling on his scooter and biking, always eager to explore and experience the world around him. As Mark Twain once said, "Explore. Dream. Discover." These words, Mauricio lived by. He found solace in his puppy Mocka who he loved more than he could express. She was his loyal companion til the end when he most needed her.
He leaves behind his siblings Emilse del Socorro Franco, Maria Doris Rios, Marta Lucia Arango, Maria Victoria Arango Velez, Miriam Trinidad Arango Velez, Carlos Alberto Arango Velez, and Maria Patricia Rios, who will forever remember their brother's loving nature and his zest for life.
