Rose (Lapiana) Rizzo

Rizzo- Rose (LaPiana) of Ashby formerly of Saugus, the North End of Boston and Somerville on February 8, 2016, at home surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of Guy Rizzo with whom she shared 63 yrs of marriage. Devoted mother of Diana Baer and her husband Garry of Ashby. Cherished grandmother of Justin Richard Baer and his wife Amanda and Dylan Guy Baer of Ashby. Dear sister of Frank LaPiana of Malden and the late Joseph LaPiana, Ignazio LaPiana, Katherine Vecchio and Mary Brandariz. Loving aunt of Phaedra D’Ambrosio and her husband Paul and daughter Paige of Tewksbury. Treasured godmother of Paula LaPiana of Revere and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Rose was born in Boston on April 24, 1927 to Ignazio and Fillipa (Toscano) LaPiana. She grew up in the North End of Boston and Somerville. She resided in Saugus for 28 years. Rose was an accomplished seamstress. She worked at the Bride and Groom in Saugus and had her own seamstress business for many years. She was known for her cooking talents and would host large parties for family and friends at their Saugus home. Rose loved gardening. Her flowers flourished under her special touch. She loved collecting Cook books from all over the world, bright colors and music. Most of all she loved her family and was always there for them. Rose and Guy moved to Ashby to be close to her daughter and grandchildren. She was known by everyone for her famous individually wrapped brownies that she lavishly bestowed upon her grandchildren and their friends and families. Affectionately called “Nin” she became Ashby’s grandmother. Funeral Service will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Chapel on Friday February 12th at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4:00-6:30pm followed by a blessing and celebration of her life at 6:30pm in Paul Buonfiglio & Sons~Bruno Funeral Home 128 Revere St., REVERE . Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Rose loved bright colors, so feel free to wear them as we celebrate her life.
