Theresa (Diruzza) Marks

Marks, Theresa (DiRuzza) of Saugus formerly of Revere passed away surrounded by her loving family on October 27, 2020 at the age of 92. Born in Revere on July 27, 1928 to the late Philip DiRuzza and Mary (Christello). Beloved wife of 34 years to the late Joseph Marks. Devoted mother of Al and his late wife Judy, Charlie and his late wife Carmela, Mel and his wife Terry, Phyllis and her husband Jim, and Joseph. Dear sister of Jeanne, Dolores, Pat, and the late Mariano, Mario “Sonny”, Angelo “Mousie”, Felix “Junior”, Antionetta “Netta”, Geraldine “Gerry”. Also survived by her god daughter Lynda and many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Theresa was born and raised in Revere and left school at an early age to help her mother and father support the family. She worked in the factories her whole life and Standard Box of Chelsea is where she would retire from after 20 years. Theresa was great at what she did and was a hard worker and recalled after many layoffs she would be the only woman that they kept on the payroll. Our mother was 4’6 feisty little fire cracker who had no problem telling you what was on her mind and was the strongest women you would ever know. She was loyal, loved unconditionally, and was the sweetest most forgiving person. Our mom would give all that she had and go without. She was nurturing and loved playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Theresa enjoyed bingo, playing cards and Pokino with her family, and was a great bowler. We have many fond memories of our camping trips with mom like making apple pies, building the fires (she would stand in the fire pit to build because she was so little), and driving the golf cart and boat. She was a great cook that made awesome gravy. Her famous spicy hot sausages and potatoes as well as her onion, pepper and mushrooms were loved by everyone. All whom loved her dearly will never forget her tenacity, thoughtfulness, and undying love and devotion for her children and family. Due to the current spike in COVID-19, the guidelines issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and local officials, funeral services will be privately held for the immediate family under the direction of Paul Bounfiglio & Sons – Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere Street, Revere, MA 02151. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
