Thomas "Tom" Albert Misci

After a long illness, Tom passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 18th.  He was surrounded by family.  He was predeceased by his parents Aldo and Augustina Misci of Revere, proprietors of the St. Pierre’s gift and card shop in Revere.  He leaves behind his loving wife of 50 years, Gail Misci of Revere , son Matthew Misci and significant other Joan Powell of Revere, and daughter Marla Purciello and husband John Purciello of Duxbury.  He also leaves three grandchildren Dylan Misci, Ellie Purciello and Anthony Purciello.

Tom was born on March 5th, 1950 and raised in Revere with his three siblings, John Misci (wife Joyce Misci) of Revere, Michael Misci (wife Diane Misci) of Peabody, and Mary Misci of Revere. He has two brother in laws, Philip Golditch of Revere and Gary Golditch (wife Judy Golditch) of Swampscott and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was an Eagle Scout and a paper boy and played many sports in town.  He was even MVP of the Revere High School football team his senior year (class of 1968).

Tom and Gail met in high school, were married on August 26th, 1973 and raised their family in Revere.  He spent his career as an educator and coach until retiring in 2016. Tom was very involved in the Revere school system, beginning as a junior high school math teacher before becoming a class dean.  He finished his career as principal of Seacoast Academy (Revere High School’s alternative education program).  Tom played an important role in the school’s success, and had a profound impact on hundreds of students, many of which accredited their graduation and further success to his influence.  Tom was awarded “Educator of the Year” after his retirement.

“Coach Mish” was also involved in the Revere Youth Hockey program and Revere Girl’s Softball program.  Then later help coach varsity hockey and football at Revere High School.

Tom was the “Jack of all trades” and a handyman.  He was so proud of the house he bought in 1978 and transformed it into the beautiful home it was.  He was so loved and will be missed by so many.

Funeral from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home 128 Revere St, Revere on Monday, October 23, 2023 at 10:00am.  Funeral Mass at St. Anthony’s Church in Revere at 11:00am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.  A Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at the funeral home.  A Private Interment will take place at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park at a later date.  For guest book please visit www.buonfiglio.com
