William Carifio

September 17, 1927 — September 22, 2013

Carifio, William A. 86, a lifelong Revere resident on Sept 22nd. Beloved husband of Phyllis (Botelho) and the late Antoinette (Pasquale). Devoted son of the late Luigi and Concetta (Franco) Carifio. Bill was a master carpenter, craftsman and artisan who built his own home. Longtime member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. Local Union 51. He began his trade as a youngster making furniture in his family’s basement. While developing his career he took time off to serve his country during WWII as Private First Class with the U.S. Army Radio Security Detachment. Upon his return he started his own business, Carifio Architectural Woodworking. He was known for his ability to layout and manufacture the most Intricate and complicated designs. He was the loving brother of the late Joseph Carifio, Nicolina Carifio, Olga Carifio, Julia Carifio, Albert Carifio, Theresa Piccariello, Edward Carifio, Yolanda Krovitz and Virgil Carifio. Also survived by his nephew Steven Krovitz who was more like a son. As well as many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Paul Buonfiglio &Sons-Bruno Funeral Home 128 Revere St Revere on Saturday Sept 28th at 9:00am. Funeral Mass in St Anthony’s Church at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be Friday 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s foundation 311 Arsenal St Watertown MA 02472.
