I will always remember Uncle Dave...and to me, his greatest attribute was one of unconditional love. From the first time I met him, to our last meeting..I felt loved and accepted. We had a special bond...we loved getting each other gag/funny cards for our birthdays...and he told me he always looked forward to what I'd come up with. I will always love and miss you Uncle Dave. Until we meet again, say hi to Rita, Grandma, and Papa for me. Love always, Kerry

As I write this tribute to my Uncle Dave, tears still flow as I cope with the recent loss of my mother, Rita, and now my Uncle. Two special people in my life gone in four weeks, it just doesn't seem possible. However, we have to reflect on the good memories in life. Uncle Dave and I had great memories over the years. I'll never forget the time in 1986 that he drove to New Hampshire to pick me up early from school (I was in second grade), and he took me to the movie "Top Gun" when it came out in theaters. He surprised me with this, and It was a memorable afternoon for the two of us! Later on when I was older, he took me to my first Patriots game at Gillette Stadium. It was a great game, but also a memorable evening for my uncle and I doing something we love; supporting our sports teams! I last saw Uncle Dave for dinner on Sunday August 24th, the day after mom's funeral. I didn't think it would be the last time I saw him, but I'm glad I did while I was home. On this final time that we would see each other, he gave me something special, a David Ortiz bobble head figurine. We both love the Red Sox, and now when I look at the David Ortiz figurine, it has a special meaning to it. Not only is it a replica of a special athlete to me as a Red Sox fan, it's a special memorabilia that was passed down from my Uncle Dave to me. He now joins his parents (my Grandma and Papa), his sister (my mom) my cousin Antonia, and his family who have gone before. May he rest in peace, but partake of eternal happiness with God in the courts of heaven. Because families are forever, we will see him again in the next life! With Love, His Nephew Always, Manny
