As a lifelong Winthrop resident, who didn’t know Joe, he will be missed dearly, he was far too young to be lost. God Bless. Brian G Dalton

I am so saddened to just learn about Joe’s passing. He was such a special guy, there aren’t many people like Joe. He always made time to connect with people and make them feel good. My dad was a customer of his for years and when I bought my house at 27 years old Joe took care of me. He gave me advise and always told me “I was a good kid.” When my dad had a stroke and was paralyzed Joe went to visit with him and when my dad passed away, Joe would always tell me what a great guy my dad was. Joe took exceptional care of my mom and would always help her out because she would always forget to fill the oil tank. I honestly enjoyed calling my oil man for a delivery, he was always refreshing to talk to. The last time I spoke with him I told him I was having a baby, he was so happy for me. My baby was born three days after he passed. I hope he told my dad that I’m doing well and that he took great care of his wife and daughter when he got to Heaven. Rest easy Joe, you will be missed immensely.

Today I found out our favorite oil man died. Last time I saw Joe was at whole foods. He helped me out so much when my grandmother died and we had a few burner issues. He was such a special person. As everyone else said, he had a way with his customers. I could not help but cry because I thought it was odd I had not heard from Joe, as he always checked in on us. May his memory be eternal. He was one of a kind indeed.

Joe was my oil guy and he always made sure that we were taken care of. We used to talk about many things and he always brought a smile to my face. I will miss the texts and occasional phone calls he’d send. And I am truly sorry for the loss of a very kind man.

10/23 ... I just saw that Joe has passed ... I'm in shock ...Joe's been our 'oil guy' for several years ...such a great guy ...when he came to deliver he and I always chit chatted about 'My Shelby Mustang and Ford Model A' that are in my garages ...he truly enjoyed 'car talk' ... I miss you already Joe ... trust me .. "Big Ron" as you called me will never forget you.

Our family was devastated and are heartbroken to just learn of Joe’s passing. He was a good man - truly sweet, funny, sincere, and honest. As other’s wrote, he made us feel known, like we were his only customers. This is a quality that is rare to find today. We considered him a friend. We will truly miss him. Joe, May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord lift up his countenance upon your and give you peace.

Jodi ... what the neighbors called you as we watched you growing up across the street. You were so cute then ... I remember the day you got married and all the fellows gathered for pictures at the house...handsome young men for sure. It certainly was a surprise to find you had passed...way too young. My thoughts are with your wife and son and the rest of the family. God bless them and keep them safe. Fondly Linda Butler McGeorge

My deepest condolences to Lois and Joes family. I grew up down the street from Joe. He would make the ice cream truck wait at his house so that the other neighborhood kids could get ice cream. His generosity as a person is well known. He was unique in so many ways. He loved his family and wanted the very best for Lois and Joe Jr. We will miss him dearly and will fondly remember his many stories, his hearty laugh, kind smile and unwavering determination to overcome life’s obstacles. With sincere condolences and love, Mark & Debra Panetta
