I have such fond memories of Royale from my Mercer days. She was sharp, tough, fiercely loyal and a tremendously caring person. I lost touch with her after leaving Boston, but often wondered about her. My sincere condolences to her family and loved ones. The world has lost a good one.

Royale was the best! No nonsense, tough but so kind, and always had my back. I appreciated her honesty, quick wit and tenacity. I learned so much from her in our years working together, and I often still find myself thinking, "How would Royale approach this."
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Take care of each other as you grieve this mighty loss.

I was fortunate to get to know Royale through her Mercer colleagues. I knew the legend of Royale long before I actually met her.
Since those days, it's impossible to count the number of times I have said out loud: "What we need is a Royale for this." Or - when complimenting someone whose character I truly admired - I have thought: "Oh, they remind me of Royale." She had a big presence, achieved big goals, and had big impact...but nothing was bigger than her heart.

Royale was one of the first people I met at Mercer -- we both came down to New York for some in-person training, and I noticed how she didn't mince words about the usability of the trackball (pre-touchpads) on her loaner laptop for the training. We worked on numerous projects in the following years, and she was always my go-to resource when I needed an explanation about some new, frustrating process imposed by management :). I will miss her, and her insightful honesty, directness, and effectiveness, all to support her colleagues and get the job done right.

Royale was such a wonderful person. She gave all of herself and asked for nothing in return. She was more than a mentor and a friend. She gave the best advice and was always there to give her support. I cherish our time together, especially the trips we took. My condolences to Royale’s family and friends. Rest In Peace, dear friend.

My former Mercer colleagues have said it all, so I'll be short and to the point when I say I am just heartbroken to hear this. I have the best memories of Royale, especially of our trip to New Orleans (before she relocated there). Rest in peace, my friend, I know the angels are with you.

As so many here, I worked with Royale many years ago at Mercer on the Communication Team. Coming straight from college and from a blue-collar background, she clicked with me right away and was a wonderful mentor and protector. She was wicked smart with a wicked tongue, but she knew how to get things done. As they say of great boxers... she could punch way above her weight. I lost touch with her when I left Mercer, but I never forgot her or the fantastic teammate she was. My condolences to all her family and friends.

Royale was a colleague, a confidant and most importantly, the best kind of friend. The one who’s there for the good and the bad, focused on your achievements and downfalls despite the challenges she faced herself. She could set you straight with brutal honesty followed by a hefty dose of kindness and compassion. The richness she brought to my life is immeasurable. My heart aches but I will always remember her bright star that continues to shine; never to be extinguished. Scott

I'm so saddened to hear about Royale. I enjoyed working with her at Mercer and have many fond memories, including a "skit" we delivered together at a training session many years ago. It was outside both of our comfort zones, but we our way laughed through it and I'll never forget it. I will miss Royale and send my condolences to her family.

One of the greatest gifts in my life was knowing, working beside and loving Royale Dishion, and getting to watch Daniel and Christian grow up under her wise guidance. The world has lost a shining light. -Tom Lutzy

My heart goes out to Royale's family and friends. I, too, worked with her at Mercer and have fond memories of her warm Boston accent (to my unsophisticated ear) and can-do work ethic. Nothing was too big or too small for her to tackle. She was always sweet and kind to me and while we only ever spoke over the phone, she had this way of making you feel that she was your best friend who would always be there for you. I'm sorry to hear of her passing and will think supportive thoughts to her family during this difficult time.

I also worked with Royale at Mercer--or maybe I should say, I worked for Royale at Mercer, as we all did. She was strong and had enormous integrity; tough on the outside, a softie on the inside. Her biting wit and focus got me through many long nights and weekends. As many have said, she was so much more than a colleague--she was a friend and a confidante, an anchor and a leader. She was a woman of great depth. I'm so heartbroken that she's gone. We lost touch over the years, but I miss her dearly. My deepest condolences to her family. Gone too soon. Rest in peace, Royale.

I want to express my deepest and most heartfelt sympathies to Royale’s family. I’m heartbroken beyond measure. You see…Royale was a colleague, friend, confidant, and someone who literally saved my life…taking me in at one of the toughest times in my life. She was a savior, she was tough, she never sugar-coated anything, yet she had a huge heart. She was everything to everyone. I will forever cherish every memory. While we may have lost touch, Royale will always hold a very special place in my heart…always. You will be missed greatly. Love you to the moon and back, Girlfriend! Godspeed.

I worked with Royale for years and much like the other comments, never actually met her in person. My favourite memory of her are the many conversations we had about my team where she referred to them all as "kids". I missed her when she retired. She will live on in my memories.

I worked with Royale at Mercer and never met her in person as I am in Iowa. However, we spoke often and for long periods of time. Even after she retired, we texted and kept in touch. Sadly, I had not texted her in a while but always thought of her. She was an amazing woman and would make me laugh with her humor, how she saw things and just her funny descriptions of things happening at work. On her serious conversations, she always seemed to face challenges by superceding and overcoming anything thrown her way. When her heart broke, my heart broke for her from afar. My favorite all time story is how she got her name Royale! I will forever treasure her memory. To her family, I am truly sorry for your loss. I too wish there was more time to enjoy her. My sincere condolences.

After getting this news, it has been impossible to think of anything else. Royale wasn't just a friend--she was a soul-mate in many ways. I loved her honesty--she didn't mince words. She had little time for slackers and could read people better than a psychologist. She was always there when the work needed to be done, no matter the personal sacrifice. She was a powerhouse who led by example, loyal to all who worked with her and always ready to help. When I think of Royale, the proverb "A Woman of Proven Worth" comes to mind. My life was richer for having her in it. Lea

I worked with Royale at Mercer over many projects. One of the first times I "met" her, was when she project managed the project to hire me 🙂 So literally Royale was the first person I "met" at Mercer. She was such a lovely person to talk to and I learned a lot about Mercer from her. Notice, I say "met" in quotes - because over the 7 years that we worked on several projects, I didn't actually meet her once in person. I was so sad to hear about her passing and I'm very sorry for your lose.

I worked with Royale for many years at Mercer and though we met in person only once or twice, I always felt we had a close virtual friendship -- way before "virtual" became a way of life over the past year. Royale had a refreshing candor and "how do we solve this" attitude that I adored, because she reminded me of another strong woman in my life: my late mother. For Royale's family, I'm so sorry for your loss of such an amazing woman. I hope that the good memories of her humor, kindness, and strength help you through this time. For all of us who worked with her, I'm sorry that we've lost a friend and role model for staying strong and being there for each other. I'll miss her ! Donna

I worked with Royale for many years at Mercer. I lost touch with her when I left the company and tried to reconnect but couldn't find her. I'm so sad that she has passed. She meant a lot to me and so many other people. She was a complex person and faced a lot of challenges in her life. And she met those challenges with courage, conviction and sometimes tough love. To me, she was a friend, sounding board, advisor, last-minute bailer-outer, caregiver, conscience, motivator, proofreader, hell-raiser...She was only two years older than me, but had so much more experience and wisdom. She treated everyone equally and "said it like it was," not always in the most "politically correct" way, but she got her message across (smile). It was hard to thank, help, pay back a lunch loan or express love to Royale, but that was Royale. She had a tough shell and a golden heart. I know that Royale will stay in my heart and in the heart of many others. My condolences to all of her family and friends. Martha
