Alaides Soares, ou Lala como era conhecida por amigos e entes queridos, faleceu serena e tranquila no dia 18 de maio de 2022, após uma corajosa batalha contra câncer metastático de ovário, aos 61 anos. Embora nos últimos três anos ela tenha sido desafiada com muitos problemas de saúde, ela nunca deixou de nos surpreender com sua fé inabalável e sorriso brilhante, mostrando-nos uma tremenda resiliência e força até o final de seus dias.

             Alaides nasceu no Brasil no dia 6 de janeiro de 1961, mas mudou-se para Massachusetts em busca de um futuro melhor para ela e seus filhos. Seu maior orgulho é ter alcançado esse objetivo com muito trabalho e dedicação. Ela começou sua vida aqui como cozinheira e nesta profissão descobriu sua grande paixão. Ela trabalhou na cozinha da Boston Higashi School por mais de 20 anos, onde tocou muitas vidas com suas melhores receitas, carinho e coração caloroso. Seu talento como chef estendeu-se também à sua vida pessoal; ela adorava ser anfitriã de grandes encontros de família e amigos em casa, onde encantava nosso paladar com misturas impecáveis ​​de sabor e se divertia com muita música, bebidas e risadas. Lala era gentil com todos, gostava de conhecer novas pessoas e estava sempre disposta a se doar para ajudar o proximo. Ela era uma alma tão maravilhosa e generosa que nos deixou uma montanha de belas lembranças.

             Alaides nasceu filha de Maria de Lourdes Brandão Moura e do falecido Sebastião Soares Moura. Lala deixa seu amorozo marido, José Mesquita de Araujo; O amor deles era tão especial que quase podia ser tangível enquanto eles olhavam um para o outro. Lala deixa quatro filhos: John Heberth Soares Correia e Katiuscia Soares Correia, do primeiro casamento com Deli Correia da Silva; e Ingrid Anne Mesquita e Frederico Mesquita de Araujo, os enteados que ela amava como seus. Ela deixa muitos outros que carinhosamente a chamavam de mãe, pois seu amor e cuidado era grandioso. Ela deixa também cinco netos, e muitos afilhados e afilhadas abençoados. Ela fará muita falta e sempre será lembrada por todos nós que estivemos ao lado dela incentivando-a a continuar lutando e nunca desistir.

             Com todo amor e alegria que ela espalhou por onde passou, gostaríamos de convidar todos que fizeram parte de sua linda jornada para celebrar sua vida. O velório será realizado na Funerária Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno no endereço 128 Revere Street, Revere no sábado,  28 de maio de 2022, das 9h às 12h, com oração as 11h. Uma procissão iniciará as 12h da casa funerária para o enterro no Cemitério Forest Dale em Malden.

                    Alaides Soares, or Lala as she was known by friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on May 18th, 2022, after a courageous battle against metastatic ovarian cancer at the age of 61. Though the last three years she was challenged with many health issues, she never ceased to amaze us with her unwavering faith and bright smile, showing us tremendous resilience and strength till the end.

                 Alaides was born in Brazil on January 6th, 1961, but moved to Massachusetts in pursuit of a better future for herself and children. She prides herself most on being able to have accomplished this goal with hard work and dedication. She started her life here as a cook and discovered her great passion in this profession. She worked at the kitchen at Boston Higashi School for over 20 years, where she touched many lives with her best recipes, care, and warm heart. Her talent as a chef extended to her personal life just as much; she loved to host large gatherings for family and friends at home, where she delighted our taste buds with impeccable mixes of flavor and entertained with lots of music, drinks and laughter.  Lala was kind to all, enjoyed meeting new people, and was always willing to give of herself to help others. She was such a wonderful and generous soul that has left us with a trail of beautiful memories. 

                     Alaides was born to Maria de Lourdes Brandao Moura and the late Sebastiao Soares Moura. Lala is survived by her loving husband, Jose Mesquita de Araujo; Their love was so special it could almost be tangible as they gazed at each other. Lala is survived by her four children: John Heberth Soares Correia and Katiuscia Soares Correia, from her first marriage with Deli Correia da Silva; and Ingrid Anne Morato and Frederico Mesquita de Araujo, the stepchildren that she loved as her own. She is also survived by many others who heartfeltly called her mom, as her love and affection have no bounds. She is survived by five grandchildren and many blessed godsons and goddaughters. She will be greatly missed and always remembered by all of us whom stood beside her encouraging her to continue to fight and never give up.      

                    With all the love and joy that she spread wherever she went, we would like to invite all who were a part of her beautiful journey to celebrate her life. Visitation will be held at Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home at 128 Revere Street, Revere on Saturday,  May 28, 2022, from 9am to 12pm, with prayer service at 11am. A procession will begin at 12pm from the funeral home for interment at Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.
