P.S. Billy, in the end, I know you loved my little Newburyport house and you thought I was silly to sell it. You were right!

My favorite story of Billy... and the reason why the word "ludicrous" is synonymous with "Billy Hill" in my memory for eternity... I am good friends with his sister-in-law. When I was living and working in England, but decided that my heart was in Boston, I called her to say that I wanted to move back. but didn't want to rent; I wanted to buy a little home. (This was a long time ago!) She and her husband found a house ('for sale by owner') for me within one week. They viewed it and loved it and said it was "totally me" so I made the owners an offer sight-unseen. The owners countered - we agreed on the price - so I bought the house. Billy said, "That's ludicrous! How can you buy a house that you have never seen? That's ludicrous, Eve!" I love Billy Hill. He was a brilliant, charming man, with a smile on his face, as well as in his heart. A wonderful friend, father, husband. And his wife, Karen, is an Angel. You had a sparkle in your eye and came up with most interesting, unique, educated insights and witty remarks. You touched us all deeply, Billy. We will never forget you. Bless you and rest in peace. Karen and family, My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I loved Billy, such a wonderful guy. We had so many great times together with our friends at the Legion. His passing has brought back so many memories that makes me smile. I will never forget you, my friend. God bless you, and your family.
